I went way past the character limit so I decided to respond to your post this way.
I’ve experienced that for about 10 years now, I got my eyes checked out then and they’re fine. The doc said they’re called “auras” (not energy-field auras, at least I don’t think they’re related but they could be) and are caused by migraines or silent migranes, or are the precursor to seizures. I don’t get migraines (or maybe I have silent ones I suppose) and I’ve never had a seizure.
I have noticed they occur in certain circumstances though. And I’ve got more varieties of them now. Back then I only had what I call sparklies, basically sparkles shoot through my vision but I can never actually look directly at them. When I try to they just move. And those typically happen when I need to sleep or when I’m feeling full of energy (like when I’m really excited and/or interested in something and am in hyperfocus mode).
Another kind is strobe light vision. This happens when I really need to sleep but can’t / don’t want to. It also seems to happen when I’ve had too much light input into my eyes (my eyes are very sensitive to light). It varies from quick flickering to full on black-white-black-white-black-white.
Sometimes my vision is filled with bluish purple, both closed-eye and open-eye. I’m not sure if this is actually related to the other visuals though, because it typically happens when I’ve been meditating for a while and sometimes when I smoke weed. It seems related to the 5th circuit (in the 8 circuits of consciousness). Also seems like it’s related to the third-eye chakra (which is connected to the 6th circuit). But I honestly need to put more thought into it / re-read about the circuits before I can really say how I think it all correlates.
And my last kind happens way more often than the others (almost every day), and it’s the most recent to develop. It’s kinda difficult to describe. But it definitely reminds me of tripping on shrooms. That same sort of wavy, fluid movement within my vision. It’s sort of like looking from the top down at waves and ripples in water, and I can see through it. It usually happens when I first wake up. I have a feeling that it’s related to dreaming somehow. It just feels dreamy… like my vision hasn’t totally adjusted to this world yet and is still trying to generate the images and movement of my dreams.
I also get a lot of geometric patterns and lights when I rub my eyes. VERY trippy. But I think that might be a common thing? Not really sure.
This is really interesting to ponder, I’d love to know your take on it and know more about your and your love’s experiences with it.
It’s definitely a very interesting subject. Thank you for sharing! The thing with his was it wasn’t due to an actual headache unless it was a silent migraine. It just happened at random at work and he said he was having a hard time looking at the computer screen and felt nausea while his vision began distorting into these geometric patterns/waves. He hasn’t been on any drugs, unless you count one cup of coffee so it’s not like it was an outside influence either.. I’m sure there is a neurological response but it’s interesting because it all goes back to seeing/feeling energy.
I do think it was an ocular migraine and/or visual migraine but it’s intriguing because it seems to be more common with people who have been through awakening. As if it’s some type of Right-hemisphere glitch or psychosomatic adrenal response, it’s hard to say.
I’ve experienced seeing energy since i was little but it came back full force after i went through kundalini awakening especially after i began working extensively on my chakras/energy body. So seeing energy orbs or geometric patterns is just something that happens to me and usually I shrug it off lol. I do know when you see balls of light or color when rubbing your eyes it’s called phosphenes and it is fairly common. We can mainly see these type of occurrences within our peripheral vision but I’ve had other cases where my vision completely changes into seeing energy as if i’m tripping out of nowhere sober. It’s just fascinating to me because behind everything there is an energetic cause.
I remember Swami Muktananda mentioned upon seeing the blue pearl, a blue orb of energy that it was like seeing “the physical manifestation of the soul” and was a pure sign of the awakened kundalini. I’ve actually experienced seeing the blue pearl before too back in 2011.. Now the same Indian saint born in 1902 had the same experience that i did, how can any of that be coincidence?
It could relate to dreams as it could also relate to dimensions or shifting your energetic field, like your consciousness shifts into a different perception due to changes within the nervous system brought on by kundalini. The interesting thing is there is not a lot of research out there on this most say the causes are unknown or due to a psychosomatic response such as stress. The 8 circuit model could connect into it. I’ve written on that subject before, i think the 8 circuits connects directly to different dimensional perceptions of reality. So if there is a sensory response it MAY connect back to circuit 5.
I like to think outside the box because everything goes back to energy and consciousness. This is a good discussion, feel free to add 🙂
