Over-active Empathy

I would like to ask you a question, if you do not mind. Feel free to answer only if you have the time or you feel like it (as I didn’t see many posts from you recently, so I can only guess that you have other things to do besides tumblr).
Anyway, the question struck me after reading your post about empathy. It’s not exactly the same situation, but it’s something related to energies and the interaction between them, which is a field I only know about, but have too little direct power over. You, on the other hand, amaze me every time with your knowledge. Thanks for posting.

The situation is – I love my group of friends and they are good people, but I think that some of their past and present issues still need to be taken care of. Consequentially, they have less…stabile energies and vibrations. Every time I go out with them lately I feel as if I either try really hard to keep my vibration at its normal level, or resort to lowering it, so that it matches my friends’. Both make me feel uncomfotable and drained afterwards and I really need time reacharge. It also happens to me in different places, mostly at parties and generally in social gatherings. however, it’s easier to disconnect from parties, while with close friends…

How can one keep their energies at a stable level in such situations?

It’s more of a personal thing why i can’t write as much, for one i just don’t have the time sometimes or energy. I have a 3 month old now so i have to learn time management and different sleep patterns o.O So if you just randomly see some posts it’s because i finally got some free time, i really really miss the blog especially because i have a sea of mail that i still need to get to and accomplish. However i’m learning one person can’t heal the world so i try to take it as i can and answer what resonates with me right now. 

As for your question, I am also having a lot of emotional issues, part of it is i believe the season we’re in Winter is a very deep reflective period of time. We’re more spacy and our energy is more out there. Another thing is we’re entering a new cycle so we’re all still doing some HUGE releasing during this time as we make way for the New Moon on New Year’s Day. Tell me who else is super excited about that? It makes me feel like we’re finally moving into proper alignment this coming year, i feel like it’s going to be a good one.

Anyway what i’ve come to learn about controlling your vibrations in a social situation is that you have to stay in control which takes some practice. It’s an odd thing to feel others sometimes, it’s a blessing and a curse to be an empath. I wouldn’t say you necessarily have to lower your vibrations to talk to your friends but moreso work on shielding and control. Control is very important. For instance right now i’m working on my solar plexus because it’s still healing from childbirth so i’m also having some control issues. It’s very possible you need to get your solar plexus in check. One thing i do when i feel low vibrations is i bring my awareness elsewhere for a few minutes like direct your thoughts to a place of calm. “Oh i love that color of her skirt” or look at the trees! Anything to get your mind someplace else, It’s really the same thing you would do if you were suffering from a panic attack you have to get your mind out of the equation of the negative energy. So you direct your thoughts elsewhere to a more positive environment or you could be self-encouraging and tell your friends to be more positive. I try to do that with my mom. My parents are SOOO negative it makes them hard to live with and be around daily but because we’re still looking for a place. I just have to deal. There are some days when i feel angry for no reason or just these different emotions that are not my own it’s a strange spot to be in. You just have to learn to center yourself more by coming back into your own energy aura. It’s also good to recharge, i’m glad you’re doing that, having your own space really helps the healing and helps you center yourself a bit more.  I also notice when someone else is in a different state of mind like drinking or weed i will consciously pick up on it and sense the different vibrations. It’s just something you have to get used to and practice getting better at it. Shielding is very important too and don’t forget Grounding.
