BORN BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 21 – SEPTEMBER 22
The Personality is developed from Aries to Virgo; the Soul is developed from Virgo to Pisces.
THE SUN REPRESENTS THE SOUL. THUS, THE ENERGY IN WHICH OUR SUN IS LOCATED REVEALS THE SOURCE OF OUR CONSCIOUS AWARENESS—I AM VIRGO.
ZODIAC ENERGY: VIRGO SYMBOL: The Virgin, holding a sheaf of wheat

BASIC SOUL PURPOSES: A VIRGO incarnation involves the search for meaningful service. VIRGO works to create/implement forms for the externalization of the Soul onto the physical plane. VIRGO asks, “How can I express the Christed Consciousness within my daily work and lifestyle?”
QUALITY TO OVERCOME: Criticism
LESSON TO LEARN: Discrimination (Discernment)
MOTIVATED BY: The desire for perfection
BASIC NEEDS IN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS:
MOST COMPATIBLE ENERGIES: Taurus & Capricorn
COMPATIBLE ENERGIES: Cancer, Scorpio, & Pisces
INCOMPATIBLE ENERGIES: Those of air and fire elements – often compatible
Ascendant energies will largely overcome incompatibility.
NEUTRAL ENERGY: VIRGO
An intimate relationship with another VIRGO means inability to recharge each other’s energy field. There is a tendency to blend and “act as one element.” Unless there are other strong energizing elements present, there can be a slow starvation of the nervous system. Conflict need not be present.
Attraction to others attuned to an element one lacks usually does not form the basis for a lasting relationship. One or both end up saying, “We are too different.”
Relationships can be either “too intense” of “devitalizing” according to the energy combinations of both persons. A strong reason for knowing the Soul Maps of those with whom you have close personal relationships. We can work positively with what we know.
Sleeping together merges the energy fields and can dramatically affect each person’s state of health, for good or ill. If in an intimate relationship with a neutral or incompatible Sun Sign, sleeping in separate beds/bedrooms can be very beneficial. (Stephen Arroyo, Astrology, Psychology, & The Four Elements)
EVOLUTIONARY SPIRAL: (According to Alan Oken, Soul-Centered Astrology) – as we grow holistically, we spiral upward from Personality-centered >>> Awakening to Soul-Personality relationship >>> Soul-Centered Individual.
Functioning on rhe totally Personality-Centered Level – VIRGO possesses an instinctual urge to gather resources, often leading to a life cluttered with excessive items and ideas. It is very difficult for VIRGO to differentiate “the baby from the bath water.” She can be lacking in both physical and mental discrimination. VIRGO acquires compulsively; she has a horror of empty spaces. Behind this compulsion is a fear of the void, of not having. Fear of introspection is so great that VIRGO has to build protective walls of materiality and will give excessive attention to the outer details. At the personality level, VIRGO works hard to protect self from the very source of her salvation and peace—her own inner depths. Her relationships can be indiscriminate and lacking in real emotional depth. VIRGO views both occupations and relationships as a means of personal survival at a very basic physical/emotional level.
Awakening to the Soul-Personality Relationship – at this level, we find the typical critical VIRGO—“the perfectionist “—in search of the exact and proper synthesis for all situations.” VIRGO is learning to discern, to analyze, and to be more objective in her relationship to the material world. Now, instead of cluttering, VIRGO strives to purge self of all that serves no practical purpose. Her world is now orderly. Service is now VIRGO’s frame of reference. VIRGO desires to serve in ways that allow for creative self-expression that is meaningful to those she serves. VIRGO needs to have and to know that she has a purpose, a function within society. VIRGO is constantly experimenting: physically, emotionally, and mentally. This gathering of experience prepares VIRGO to give birth to her true mission, to perform her task of work and service.
Soul-Centered Individual – service and the activity of the soul totally dominate the life of VIRGO on this level. VIRGO has now synthesized the physical, emotional, and mental into a resource she can use in her work of nourishing and caring for the world. VIRGO is now strongly manifesting the 2nd and 6th RAY energies. “Life is led as an act of love.” VIRGO is devoted to the universal family; her innermost core is enlivened/enlightened by the soul. VIRGO is now the sign of the six-pointed star of the soul-infused personality. With her soul-infused life, VIRGO takes her radiance into the world through her focus on healing and service. VIRGO uses her own creative talents to give birth to her “child.” She then learns to let go of her attachment to this “child.” Faith in the Divine and in herself is characteristic of VIRGO at the soul-centered level.
The I ANALYZE, THEREFORE I AM sign possesses an inquiring mind, with keen analytical skills, excellent memory, and a practical intuition. VIRGO is one of the hardest workers in the zodiac, with a flair for organization and dealing with details. VIRGO has an innate love for order and harmony. She can rise above defeats and use her active mind to seek new ways to find success. VIRGO strives for perfection in self and others, is industrious, considerate, and reliable. She is quiet and gentle in manner. Though VIRGO may appear to be self-sufficient, she is really happier with someone to love and who loves her. VIRGO may have difficulty being as passionate as she would like. General good health, especially with daily quiet times to rest her active mind. VIRGO’s fullest expression is found in service to others. Home is important, for VIRGO feels most secure there. VIRGO likes to work on one project at a time, perfect it, then move on. She can be a master craftsperson. VIRGO is more interested in rewarding work than a highly paid, non-service type of job. Self-employment is often an option. In order to be whole, VIRGO must bring forth a child (or created form). She may spend years in gestation, then give birth to her unique synthesis of all she has gathered. This VIRGO birthing often takes place after years of assisting others to be creative. “VIRGO enjoys tidying up the cosmos.”
NEGATIVE CHARACTERISTICS: (Remember that as you focus on developing your positive characteristics, the negative ones tend to disappear. Those who express in negative ways are frustrated, consciously or unconsciously, because they are not being who they truly are.)
VIRGO can be extremely critical, finicky, aloof, skeptical, and self-centered. VIRGO tends to worry, to have difficulty with nervous tension. “Nervous tension is the person in the body giving the body a hard time.” (Isabel Hickey) VIRGO must learn to think positively because her state of mind has a direct impact on her health. If self-centered and anxious over her health, VIRGO can become a hypochondriac. VIRGO can be very demanding of others based on her own feelings of inadequacy. VIRGO’s physical health can be a direct barometer of the measure of personal satisfaction she experiences in her work. When VIRGO feels that her work is no longer useful, meaningful, or that she is not continuing to learn and grow, her body will manifest symptoms that say, “It’s time for a change.” With her Pisces polarity, VIRGO can be hermit-like. VIRGO may not attune to her feeling nature until mid-life or later. She often feels herself to be a “late bloomer.”
A VIRGO INCARNATION offers the opportunity to achieve the Christed Consciousness through the synthesis of the lower bodies into a soul-centered means of service to humanity. VIRGO serves as an expression of self/Self.
Be sure to check your chart to see what your Ascendant is.
The zodiac energy on the ASCENDANT is the energy that the public beholds. We also look at the world through our ASCENDANT. VIRGO ASCENDANT, on the mundane level, sees a world filled with empty space to be cluttered. VIRGO ASCENDANT will look ten years younger than her chronological age and will tend to be small in statue.
In soul-centered astrology, the ASCENDANT indicates the soul’s purpose in physical incarnation.
VIRGO ASCENDANT reveals that the soul is to be activated through the 2nd RAY of Love/Wisdom and the 6th RAY of Devotion. VIRGO ASCENDANT incarnated to serve with devotion. This service will likely begin as an employee in a service oriented organization. As VIRGO ASCENDANT achieves a more soul-centered level of spiritual maturity, she will begin to serve as a being of love and wisdom. The means of service will take on a more creative self-expressive modality and is likely to be via self-employment. VIRGO ASCENDANT is learning the lesson of humble service and patience. Personal fulfillment comes through quiet service through which the 2nd RAY energy of Love/Wisdom radiates forth into the world. VIRGO marks the end of a cycle of purely personal development; it involves engaging the lower bodies (physical, emotional, and mental) in a process of self-transformation. VIRGO ASCENDANT is to be the servant or Self/Soul and others.
VIRGO ASCENDANT loves to hide away from interruptions with her books or computer. She will function better by setting aside a quiet time within her daily work schedule. VIRGO ASCENDANT and VIRGO SUN tend to delve ever more deeply into the same subject over the years. She is very sensitive to her work environment; deadlines can be stressful. VIRGO ASCENDANT & SUN excel in waiting, partly because she believes in her potential and simply waits for the time to fully display it. Once she feels competent in her profession/craft, VIRGO will seek a social life.
THE HOUSE IN WHICH THE MOON IS FOUND will indicate the area of life’s experiences where the lessons of the 2nd and 6th RAYs will tend to manifest. Since MOON CHANNELS THE 4TH RAY OF HARMONY THRU CONFLICT, many of the lessons will involve serving others in ways that assist them in achieving harmony within themselves as well as in their external environment. Artistic expressions (4th RAY) many be encouraged as a means of achieving harmony.
The rhythm of the 4th RAY of Harmony thru Conflict flows from: a relative state of harmony >>> change appears >>> tensions of struggle >>> a battle >>> death to old form >>> construction of a new form >>> harmony. The 4th RAY is the RAY on which many of the most outstanding artists and musicians are found. Thus, 4th RAY people are highly attuned to color, sound, and form.
MOON IN VIRGO
Be sure to check to see where your MOON is located.
The MOON reveals the personality as it is displayed in our reactions to the events within our daily lives. It also reveals much that is hidden within our subconscious minds.
On the soul-centered level, the MOON reveals habit patterns that must be overcome or transformed in order to advance in spiritual maturity. This struggle to overcome the negative tendencies revealed by the MOON is the “cross” we bear. (Alan Oken) The MOON reminds us of the negative habit patterns formed in prior incarnations that created the karma we brought into this lifetime.
MOON IN VIRGO indicates that soul growth will occur as the individual ceases to be critical of others. This criticism of others is actually a subconscious projection of one’s criticism of self. In prior lifetimes, VIRGO MOON has been critical of others and related to them in ways that were emotionally cold and aloof. Striving to achieve perfection in housekeeping caused her to be overly strict with her children—to believe that the tidiness of the house was of more importance than the warmth revealed to her family. In prior lifetimes, MOON IN VIRGO failed to take care of physical body. In her self-centeredness, she created real or imagined dis-ease. She nagged and was cranky over minor details.
MOON IN VIRGO is to transform her criticisms of self and others into an astute ability to discriminate constructive forms and thoughts from those that negate or lead astray. MOON IN VIRGO Is learning to access and accept the shadow side of self as simply a part of self that is to be transformed into light.
THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO ALL THREE OF THE ABOVE- SUN, ASCENDANT, & MOON IN VIRGO
HEALTH & WELL-BEING: The VIRGO/PISCES polarities work together to bring a positive regulation of energy flow within the physical body.
Achieving a balance between the qualities of VIRGO and PISCES, thereby transforming negative habit patterns, will assist in maintaining good health. For examples, achieving a balance between:
VIRGO’s fear of the void – and –PISCES’ innate sense of faith in the Divine.
VIRGO’s lack of attunement to the feelings of others – and – PISCES’ empathic nature.
VIRGO’s practicality – and – PISCES’ love of the ethereal.
VIRGO’s attention to details – and – PISCES’ capacity to synthesize.
VIRGO’s technicality – and – PISCES’ artistry.
Failure to recharge one’s Sun Sign energy results in depletion, irritability, and increased vulnerability to physical and emotional dis-eases. The element of one’s Sun Sign is the fuel needed to feel alive. It is the source of vitality and power, the resource for coping with stress and challenges.
VIRGO recharges by: 1) Regular association with other earthy people, such as Taurus and Capricorn. 2) Through taking on material duties and obligations. Coping with the material world stimulates VIRGO’s best energies and feeds her need to express herself through practical accomplishments. 3) VIRGO’s element is earth; she gets her vital energy from the Earth. Therefore, she needs to get her hands and feet dirty, to attune to the trees and plants. Meditative walks in nature are excellent, especially as one consciously drinks in the energies of the Earth.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION: VIRGO , as well as the other earth signs, is solid in nature. VIRGO dislikes conflict and will tend to absorb the force of the problem’s energy, rather than speak to it. VIRGO has sound common sense and desires practical, useful results from their energy output. Engaging in conflicts is a waste of energy. On the other hand, VIRGO’s tendency to criticize can create conflict.
