I’m Sorry but what is mercury retrograde and its significance? Seems interesting!
Mercury Retrograde is a very interesting energy that revolves around our subconscious and breaking the past. I’ve written on this many-a times but i’ll gather a brief summary and give you some links to more info about it.
This Mercury retrograde started in the shadow zone on January 5th moving retro on January 21st and is going to stay there until February 10th. Retrogrades are a time of deep introspection and they are almost always a period of growth within relationships. Retrogrades are also against routine so if you feel stuck in a rut expect your usual plans to go topsy turvy and new traditions/new experiences to sprout.
“All of the planets move in the same direction around the Sun, each with a different rate of speed. Mercury’s orbit is 88 days long; therefore approximately 4 orbits of Mercury around the Sun equals 1 Earth year.Mercury appears to slow down, then stop, (stationary retrograde) and then move slowly backwards for several weeks (retrograde). Eventually, it appears to stop again and reverse direction (stationary direct) moving slowly forward once again (direct). Eventually Mercury appears to return to its normal orbital speed.(Mercury isn’t really going backwards, it’s just hanging out by the sun, but from Earth, that makes it look like it’s in reverse) There are three Mercury Retrograde periods each year, each lasting approximately 3 weeks.” Beyond sun signs
Mercury travels between the two hemispheres of our brain going into the s the underworld of our psyche, the subconscious. Our right brain is more in tune with the spirit world controlled by our intuition, emotions and sensitivity of our psychic senses.
Mercury is ruler of communications therefore when it retrogrades expect miscommunications, things get lost, electronics malfunction, people get angry, fights break out, you might feel emotional or overly dramatic about something. You also tend to use “re” actions such as reevaluation, renovation, reform and reinvent. Also you tend to revisit old patterns, old habits, old relationships and old wounds may surface for healing and releasing. It’s a high time of being able to understand, accept and let go of the past. Retrograde teaches us to slow down, let go, go within to heal, reinvent, catharsis and synthesis of ourselves.
also i should add we just recently were at the peak of retrograde within this past week so now it should be more about letting go and integrating what we learned during this period.
