How Do I completely relax during Meditation?

When I try to meditate I often open my eyes accidentally. So it is quite hard for me to keep my eyes relaxed.(this doesn’t occur when I sleep, only at meditation…) It’s like I don’t know where to look with my eyes closed lol. This problem doesn’t let me relax completely to turn my attention inside. I treied to concentrate on something else, breathing, but it didn’t work, it’s like I can’t control my eyes. I wear glasses but I don’t have any particular eye problem. Thank you, namaste.

It takes practice, the thing with meditation is you don’t have to look anywhere, you know that point when you’re trying to fall asleep and your eyes just kinda fall into the darkness of your eyelids? It’s like that except you’re staying conscious lol. The idea is that you want to focus your mind and clear it from all thoughts. so your focal point is you turning inside yourself. It’s okay to open your eyes to keep awareness but there really is no need for it. when you leave the eyes open your ego turns on and wants to chat with you. ’ i still need to do this homework’ ‘oh what was that’ ‘is that the cat?’ etc. you just have to filter it out. You want to clear your mind. FREE your mind. Let go of the thoughts, just let go…release them from you. you don’t need them in this moment of peace. You need absolutely nothing. If breathing didn’t work, you probably aren’t focusing on deep breathing or square breathing. You really want to feel it. you have to let yourself be in the moment completely. Feel the air go in and out of your chest, rising in and out, put your hand on your upper stomach and feel your diaphragm rising and falling, that is deep breathing. when you focus completely on the breath, you are in the moment, in oneness, in peace in the now. You let go of all thoughts because you are focussing on the breath and the silence. If breathing still doesn’t work, try visualizations. Imagine you’re at a beach or in a lovely forest, feel the wind in your hair, the sand between your toes, the cooling sea breeze, the call of the birds, imagine the deep sea infinite for miles stretching liquid blue,and you feel like you could just float up to the sky and be a part of it…seriously i could do this all day lol

It just takes practice, let your imagination be your guide, meditation is not supposed to be stressful, if it’s stressful you’re doing something wrong, you have to relax. How do you normally relax after a hard day? Do that. Get your comfy clothes on, sit in a good position either feet on the ground, crossed legged or laying down with a blanket, have some tea, listen to some ambient or chill music or silence, find a place that is sacred to you, where you can be alone undisturbed, you have to relax. If you aren’t relaxed, you aren’t really meditating lol.

Just let your imagination be your guide and let your mind unravel
